Breast reduction

Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) is a procedure designed for women who want to reduce the size of their breasts because they are too large or sagging. In many cases, very large breasts can lead to back pain, skin irritations, respiratory problems, or bone deformities, so reduction mammaplasty can be a good solution for many women.

The First Consultation

During the first consultation, a general evaluation of your health status will be performed. Additionally, the size and shape of your breasts will be assessed by taking a series of measurements and photographs that will allow us to plan the surgery.

The most appropriate surgical techniques for your specific case will be explained, the size and shape your breasts will have will be discussed, and the best options or combination of procedures for you will be considered.

You should be as honest as possible and clearly express your expectations.

Surgery and Anesthesia

This surgery is always performed in a hospital setting, with GENERAL ANESTHESIA and a 24-hour stay.

After admission, the surgical marking will be done in your own room.

The surgical procedure takes approximately 3 hours. Through the previously made markings, we will proceed with the removal of excess skin, fat, and breast tissue and reposition the areola-nipple complex to its new position, achieving breast elevation.

The incisions for this type of surgery are usually anchor-shaped and are placed from the areola to the inframammary fold and along it.

Once the surgery is complete, you will be taken to the post-anesthesia recovery room and then to your room.

Postoperative Care

You will need to wear a bra that will be indicated during the consultation, which you will take to the operating room and it will be put on after the surgery.
