The breast augmentation (augmentation mammoplasty) procedure is aimed at women who feel dissatisfied because their breasts have not developed to the desired size. It is also a surgery intended for patients who want to even out their two breasts or wish to restore volume that, for some reason, has been reduced.
The First Consultation
During the first consultation, a general evaluation of your health status will be conducted. At the same time, the size and shape of your breasts will be assessed by taking a series of measurements and photographs that will allow us to plan the surgery.
The most suitable surgical techniques for your specific case will be explained, the size and shape your breasts will have will be discussed, and the best options or combination of procedures for you will be considered.
The prostheses used are state-of-the-art (cohesive silicone gel) and currently the safest available on the market, with a guarantee.
You should be as honest as possible and clearly express your expectations.
Surgery and Anesthesia
This surgery is always performed in a hospital setting, with GENERAL ANESTHESIA and a 24-hour admission. The surgical procedure lasts approximately 2 hours.
Incisions for placing the breast implant can be made in two main locations: the inframammary fold or around the areola. We prefer the incision in the inframammary fold for three fundamental reasons:
Loss of sensitivity of the Areola-Nipple Complex (ANC): incisions near the ANC can lead to a loss of sensitivity, which is usually temporary but can be permanent.
Less visibility of the scar: The ANC is the optical center of the breast, and a scar in this location will be more visible than a scar of equal quality located in the inframammary fold. The scar in the inframammary fold is hidden by the fall of the breast.
Capsular Contracture: the amount of bacteria present on the skin of the ANC and in the mammary gland is higher than that in the inframammary fold. Therefore, contamination of the implant that initiates capsular contracture is more likely to occur if
