Vaginoplasty

Vaginal tightening or vaginoplasty is one of the most fashionable operations. It is a type of surgery for women who, due to their circumstances: age, motherhood, morphology, etc., have the need for change. Its purpose is to compensate for the widening or displacement of the vagina by reducing the muscle, which achieves a narrowing of the canal and 'supposedly' greater enjoyment of sexual relations.

First Consultation

During the first consultation, a general assessment of your health status will be conducted, as well as an examination of your external genitals, vaginal introitus, and vagina, to see if vaginoplasty is indicated in your case, performing a series of measurements and photographs that will allow us to plan your surgery.

The different surgical techniques that we can perform in your case, as well as the postoperative evolution, will be explained to you.

You should be as honest as possible, expressing any doubts that may arise.

Surgery and Anesthesia

Vaginal tightening or vaginoplasty requires GENERAL anesthesia and a one-night hospital stay. The approximate duration of the surgery is one to two hours.

There are various surgical techniques, consisting of the removal of one or more skin ellipses and the tightening of the vaginal muscles, although in certain cases, the intervention may involve performing a cerclage with sutures, thus reducing the size of the vaginal circumference, or it can also be performed by grafting fat from the patient herself.

The scars remain inside the vagina.

Postoperative

The postoperative period of a vaginoplasty is not very painful; patients usually complain of burning in the operated region, discomfort that is easily controllable with common analgesics.

There may be a loss or decrease in sensitivity after the surgery, which will recover in the weeks following the procedure.

You should maintain proper genital hygiene, washing the wound several times a day with water and soap, keeping the area dry, and applying an antiseptic that will be indicated during the consultation.

Some postoperative complications may arise, such as wound dehiscence, which will be resolved in consultation through dressings.

You will return to your normal life in a few days, but you should refrain from physical exertion for at least two weeks and wait at least a month before resuming sexual relations.

It is important that you avoid smoking, at least for two weeks before and two weeks after the surgery.
